About Us
Butterfly Ambassador Ministries started on August 18, 2016 when the founder, Jelissa Cogdell, completed a 30 day Joshua 1:8 challenge. The challenge was to read six scriptures that connected to her heart’s desires, which are to uplift and encourage the broken hearted women of God. In the 30 days of the challenge, God renewed her strength to see persecution as preparation.
After the challenge and starting BAM, Jelissa wrote her book, “Love Flutters Like a Butterfly.” The book was released in January of 2017.
Meet the Founder
Jelissa Cogdell is the founder of Butterly Ambassador Ministries. Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, Jelissa moved to Garner, North Carolina in 2004 after her parents separated. She experienced lots of adversity growing up, but God protected her through it all. Jelissa is an author, philanthropist, and motivational speaker and holds an Associate’s degree in Child Psychology. Jelissa aspires to inspire people through biblical counseling, prayer, and studying the word of God. Jelissa is married to Carlton Cogdell and lives in North Carolina with him and their two children.
